Monday March 6th Day 5
Welcome Back! I am excited to start this new adventure with. It will be a huge learning experience for all of us. But first, I have to share a story with you.So it's the first day of spring break and we are at the cabin, getting ready to go ice fishing. We packed up 2 giant ice fishing sleds to bring on the ice with everything we needed to help us on the ice. They were full and on the heavy side. The lake is less then a minute from our cabin and we started to walk. Now remember, this was before all the snow. There was some, but not much on the way to the lake. So I was pulling one of the sleds. It was heavy, but as we walked on, I noticed that sometimes the sled was moved really easily, and other times it was really hard. On the patches of snow and ice, the sled moved quick and easy. On the mud and gravel, it was really hard to pull. Way was this? Can you guess? FRICTION! Less friction on the snow and ice. So I kept jumping from one patch of snow to the other. Cool. Next, when we were on the ice, we had to drill holes to fish from. We used an auger. It basically looks like a giant cork screw and drills through the ice to make the holes. What kind of simple machine was this? A SCREW. Ha, Science is everywhere. Wow. Okay, that's my story, but I really did think about Science that day.
Now, on with todays work. Please check out OneNote to check out what is going on for today. I hope you are glad to be back! If you have no idea what I am talking about, please scroll back and review all the messages sent from Monday, March 23rd on. There is a file that you will need to read on how to get into OneNote.

March 19th Update
Dear Students,
We miss you so much. We have had a fun week of working on our Simple Machines and doing TUSC. I hope your projects are going well and I am looking forward to seeing yours on Monday. Group B will need to have their presentations in by next Thursday. One thing to note when competing you Power Point is that your slides have to go in order of your speech and have to fit with the words you are saying. If you have a slide in there, it has to "fit" with your speech.
Book Club final assignment is also due ASAP. Please send those in to me.
Here are the answers to your Math questions. I hope you competed your work on time. Before you check this file out double check that you have answered each question in a sentence! *Also, if you did get a question wrong, it is important to find out why. Did you make a multiplication error? Subtraction/addition error? Take the time to understand why you got something wrong so you can gate it right the next time!

Updated September, 2019
Thank you for checking out our class weebly. It is a useful tool for keeping up-to-date on what is happening in the classroom and in our school community.
The daily assignment page is updated almost every day, while the others are updated throughout the year as we work through curriculum or new initiatives pop up. I will send e-mails to you to let you know when and where an update has been made.
On the academic pages you will find helpful information on what we are studying, sometimes there will be practice quizzes, work sheets or outlines to keep you in the loop and to help you understand what we are learning in class.
Please select from the pages at the top of the weebly for specific information.
General Information
Arrival Time
Students should arrive no later then 8:30am. This allows them 10 minutes to put outerwear away, briefly visit with friends, and get out materials needed for the morning. School officially starts at 8:40am.
Students arriving late must go to the office and sign in, they will have been marked absent.
Parents in the Building
Parents are encouraged to wait at the front entrance of the school for their children.
If you are visiting at any time during the day, you must sign in at the office and get a visitor card.
Files you may wish to look at.
